The three instincts are as follows
* 'Birdiness' This is the dog's hunting drive or the desire to point out a game and retrieve it. This is basically an inherent property, which results from selective breeding program.
* Nose The dog should have a wonderful nose. This means that the dog must be in the possession of having a sound ability to point out the dead bird.
* Scenting condition The bird dog training involves employment of some real birds. The scenting condition with respect to the birds that the trainer uses in the training session is very important. The overall condition actually includes not only the health and alertness of the bird being used, but also demands humid and wind weather.
